About Hoover
Knowing Hoover.
Green Valley, off US 31, is where Hoover got its start. A 1959 home tour sparked growth in the area.
Bluff Park, on Shades Mountain, is older than the city. Riverchase rose on old mining land, with a first home in 1976.
Trace Crossings began in 1987, and Ross Bridge followed in the 2000s.
Hoover runs down the slope of Shades Mountain, with the Cahaba River across the south.
The Hoover Met hosts the annual SEC Baseball Tournament.
Moss Rock Preserve holds more than 250 acres of trees and rock formations.
Bluff Park and parts of Shades Mountain are steep, as are some Greystone sectors.
Most Hoover homes are subdivision-era. The median home was built in 1994, and about 45% date from the 1990s and 2000s.
Riverchase, Trace Crossings and Ross Bridge arrived in waves.
Russet Woods, where many homes date to the early 1970s, is the older end.
I-65, I-459, US 31, US 280 and AL 150 all cross the city.
