Medical, dental and lab equipment removal in Birmingham, AL

Heavy, awkward, bolted to the floor.

Exam tables, dental chairs, imaging units, lab freezers and cryogenic tanks taken out of clinics, practices and labs.

Medical, Dental & Lab Equipment

Clinic, practice and lab equipment taken out and hauled away.

Replacing a unit, moving suites or closing a practice leaves equipment most haulers will not touch.

Racoons Junk Removal takes medical, dental and laboratory equipment out of clinics, practices and labs in Birmingham and the surrounding areas.

It is heavy, it is awkward, and it is often bolted down or built in. The crew does the lifting and loading.

Exam and treatment tables, dental chairs and operatory cabinets.

Panoramic and dental X-ray units, imaging carts and the monitors that go with them.

Lab freezers, cryogenic storage tanks, incubators and benches.

Reception furniture, records shelving and everything else the suite leaves behind.

Tell us when the space is free and the crew plans around it.

Our hours are Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, and Saturday, 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM.

Same-day and next-day service is available. Call or text (205) 542-1055 and we’ll set a time to see the space in person.

How the day goes

Four steps, start to swept.

Same-day and next-day service is available. Ask when you call or text.

  1. Send photos or a list

Text a few photos of the equipment, or just say what is in the room. Then we come and look at it in person, free.

  2. We check the way out

Doorways, corners, elevators and where the trailer can park. Big units get taken apart before they are moved.

  3. The crew takes it out

Equipment is broken down where it has to be, carried out and loaded onto the pickup and the tarped dump trailer.

  4. Swept and handed back

The room is left empty and swept, ready for the new unit, the build-out or the handover.

Done right

Heavy units, narrow doorways

A dental chair is bolted down. A panoramic X-ray unit is mounted to the wall and wired in. A lab freezer does not fit through the door it came in through.

The crew takes units apart where they have to, pads the floors and corners on the way out, and loads onto the pickup and the tarped trailer.

Point at what goes, and mark anything that stays.

We are not a medical waste company. We take equipment, furniture and fixtures.

Sharps, biohazard containers, chemicals, reagents and anything else regulated have to be cleared by a licensed medical waste handler before the crew loads.

Anything plumbed or hard-wired should be disconnected by your own electrician or plumber first. Tell us what is in the room early and we will say plainly what we can and cannot take.

Who calls us

Who this is for.

  • Dental and medical practices

Swapping a chair or an imaging unit, or closing an operatory. The old unit can go out the day the new one lands.

  • Labs and research spaces

Freezers, cryogenic tanks, incubators and benches cleared when a lab is moved or decommissioned.

  • Property managers and contractors

A clinic suite that has to be empty before the build-out starts. Name the day and the crew works to it.

Common questions.

Call or text to set up a free in-person estimate.

How do I get rid of old dental equipment?

Text us a few photos or tell us what is in the operatory, and we will come and look at it in person for free.

The crew takes the unit apart where it has to, carries it out and hauls it off. Chairs, cabinets, X-ray units, compressors and the furniture around them.

Do you take medical waste or sharps?

No. We are not a medical waste company and we do not carry regulated waste.

Sharps, biohazard containers, chemicals and reagents need a licensed medical waste handler, and they have to be gone before the crew loads. Tell us what is in the room early and we will be straight with you about what we can take.

Can you take out a unit that is bolted down or wired in?

Bolted down, yes. The crew unbolts units, takes them apart and pads the route out.

Anything plumbed or hard-wired should be disconnected by your own electrician or plumber first, so the crew can lift it straight out.

We want some of it donated or sold. Can you work around that?

Yes. Point out the pieces you want kept and the crew will set them aside instead of loading them.

We do not broker sales or donations, so line up your buyer or charity and we will work to it.

Can you come outside our opening hours?

Tell us when the space is free and we plan from there.

Our own hours are Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, and Saturday, 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Same-day and next-day service is available, so ask when you call or text.
